Gite Snow

Wendy and Michael welcome you to their 1840’s character renovated farmhouse that is enclosed within an established dry stone walled garden, which contains a variety of flowers, fruit trees and relaxing lawn.

We offer Bed, Breakfast and Evening Meals in a small rural French Hamlet at 860M altitude in the National Regional Park of the Livradois Forest. Evening Meals are taken on the garden terrace (weather permitting) and where possible, we use fruit and vegetables from our own garden. A French breakfast includes jam/conserves using the fruit from our trees; our eggs are from free-range chickens. This is served in our large French kitchen/dining room, where our log burner can warm you in the winter months. The bedrooms have central heating, when necessary.

We can provide you with detailed walks, some of which start from the front door and, information and literature of other places of interest in the area. Come and enjoy the animals of the forest, where some days you may see red squirrels, deer and birds of prey.

We have two clean and comfortable ensuite bedrooms, one of which has an adjoining room for friends or extended families. We also have a double bedroom with separate bathroom containing shower, washbasin and w.c. The ensuite bedrooms have views of the garden and the third room has views of the forest and countryside. All rooms are non-smoking.

There is a guest’s area with tea/coffee facilities, guest’s fridge, table, chairs, books and board games. From this area you can access the large balcony, which has outstanding views of the forest and mountains.

Perfect for holidays, short and long breaks, weekends and house hunting. We have private parking, are open all year and can offer special tariffs for longer stays. If you are house hunting in this relatively undiscovered region we can also arrange a free introduction to the local agents.

You will note that we are open all year as every season offers something different with ever changing views of the forest and mountains. Why not take an autumn break to enjoy the rivers and forest walks at their best.

We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to our home.
